I am looking into ordering coins from The Northwest Territorial Mint. One side will have the ET Symbol the other side will have the Anchor. If you are interested in picking up a few to pass out in recognition of high proformers let me know. The more I order the cheaper they should be. They are confirming the price for me now. It's looking like about $5 per coin right now if I order 50. I really didnt want to order 50 for myself.

If there is enough interest I will let you all know the final price and we will get the order placed.

Ok here is the bad news. I just got off the phone with their rep.

They can't do what I want without creating a new die. Something to do with one being polished and the other being brushed.

so the bottom line is: the minimum order is 50 coins to get the $5 price.
There is a $100 dollar fee for the new die setup costs. Right now I have 6 people interested in purchasing the coins. I still havent heard back from Petaluma. When I do get a number from them (people and number of coins) I will let all of you know.

We can either divide the cost out to all the coins making them $7 each or divide it out amoung the number of purchasers. ie if I have 10 people buying the coins they each pay $10 extra for the die fee.

Seems to me that $2 extra per coin would be more fair to those buying 1 or 2 coins.

Master Chief you can get them for E8 and E9 but you would still have that die fee to deal with.

I'd love to hand these out to the techs at my ESD but I don't think that would be right if I also didn't have an IT coin as an option to hand out as well.

I was planning on handing them out as atta boys. Informal recognition for doing a good job.
I dont mean huge projects just things they did without being told to. Hey Chief I saw this project come in and I set everything up, ordered everything we needed and we knocked it out this morning, ahead of schedule.

I am also going to give them out to the student in each class that has the highest average at the end.

I got one from the SKCS on the Mellon when I was there and it made me feel pretty good. He said something like, "Hey ET1, even if no one else notices what you do, I did." Followed by the coin passage in the old hand shake.

As of my last post on this thread 6 March I have not received a single e-mail confirmation of # of coins. I would like to place this order by the 1st of the month. I will not be able to pay the entire $350 out of pocket and wait to be reimbursed. It just isnt possible at this time.

The cost will be $7.00 per coin for the first 50. That covers the one time minting fee and the $5.00 per coin cost. If I get more then 50 confirmed orders I will pass the word on the updated price.

I just spoke to the man at the Mint and he says 2 - 3 week turn around time. I have started receiving the checks. Those that already sent theirs Thank You.
I Plan on giving them the go Ahead to start minting as soon as I get the Check from the Petaluma guys. (33 Coins)
So if all goes well I should be shipping your coins out to you by the end of April.

Latest Update

I did receive the proof. There was a problem with the paint on the anchor.
I have spoken with the mint about it and they are correcting the problem and will inspect them all for the defect prior to shipment.

I should be receiving them in a couple weeks.

I just got back in from a week of TAD. The coins were waiting here when I got back. They look good and I will start shipping them out soon. I will ship the quanities to the addresses on the checks that I received. Chief Henry should be getting a huge pile as soon as I find a sturdy enough box. If you gave him your money make sure he has a good address for you.
