I recently went through CCTI and was "charged" by BMCS Deane Smith to become a member of this site and to make a post. I have been reading the posts for a while and getting a feel for the site and for those who are participating. There are some good thought provoking topics and a little BS as well, both of which add flavor. I'm not one one who will be an overly active mbr of this site but I will be a watcher and jump in from time to time to put in my two cents worth I'm sure.
CCTI ( my thoughts/comments) I enjoyed the process and was glad it made me get off my #@* to finally climb in the attic and go through all the boxes of CG stuff and put a keep sake book together. I know my kids will appreciate it when I'm gone. This is something I had been promising myself that I would do for years but probably would have never gotten around to doing.
I'm proud of my hat box! Me and my son Miles (11 yrs old) built it together and it will always be a treasure and a fond memory for us both.
I enjoyed meeting all the "Chiefs" and learning their personalities. I would have only have known their names at best and I would have missed out on the most important part of being a Chief and that is the networking and brotherhood that the mess offers.
Thanks for making me memorize the CG Creed and doing the research on our History. Good Stuff.
As Deane knows, I have a fairly good sense of humor and and I like to be the life of the party so putting me in front of the "Chiefs" at CCTI was a hoot. I found it painless, fun and educational.
I recommend the process to all but be warned you must have an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a sense of humor to really get all you can from the experience. It is true, you will get out of it what you put into it. Doesn't that hold true for most everything in our lives? Thanks for the "charge" Deane!
