I have told many folks about the HSC who schooled me on CG trivia and history while I was stationed down in New Orleans. It was a pleasure learning from you. It is exactly how I learned it was called a "Head." And many other history related things relative to the CG. Thanks for the memories.

Congrats to the Senior on his retirement.....

FWIW......CAPT "Doc" Weimers currently in CGPC was an E6 Army medic in VietNam. I think he might have a Bronze Star and maybe a PH for action and wounds received. He has a few of his Vietnam Army pics on the wall in his office.

ASTCS Terry Roby retired last year. He was a VietNam PH awardee also.

There might be other Vietnam vets out there.

Remember though, CAPT Wimers is not USCG but USPHS (Public Health). We just let them wear the uniform....:D

HSCS Swanger was quite a character...being PC was NOT he thing! ;)
