Just wondering why congress is sticking it's nose into the HGH and steriods scandal. I don't remember reading in the constitution where it is congresses' job to investigate such matters as this. It appears to me that this is political grandstanding to get the voters to believe they are doing something important.

They ought to get back to work.

Between that and the other side of the hall looking at football spying crap and its no wonder why the country is having issues. I wonder how much money we could save the budget if they dod some real honest work instead of wasting taxpayer dollars on this garbage.

Could make for some good fodder for whoever runs against these guys in the next election; "I will not waste taxpayers dollards on un-important issues such as football spying alligations, the likes of which Sen. Spector has. There are more important issues out there that need to be resolved for the betterment of this nation!"

Actually in my opinion it's a good thing. It boils down to the Anti-Trust exemption that the major sports leagues enjoy. They are legal monopolies authorized by the govt. Hardly any other business that I know of gets that privilege. If they screw things up (drugs, roids, cheating, gambling, etc) the govt can come in a strip the exemption and all it's privileges away from them. I would guess these are million/billion dollar leagues we're talking about and probably getting some type of special tax status from the Fed....i.e....you and me. It's tough for another professional sports league to break the union these guys have. Hence, remember the XFL and WFL.

Same thing can happen with an entity trying to keep it's tax-free status but screws up by, for example.......a church going into politics.

It's the gov't is going to authorize a legal business monopoly, it better also keep the bums honest. ;)

Waste of time and money. Get back to work on stuff that really has an effect on everyone in the country and just not a select few. Think about it, you could count them on your hands and not even need your toes to list all that are under investigation right now. What about the millions that don’t have health care. I could give to s**ts about how a few multi millionaires do the juice. Get back to work on something that might actually benefit people that really need it. After all it just a game where guys get paid 10’s of millions of dollars to play. Spend my tax payer dollars on something else.
