Good Morning,
Well, I'm driving up to Petaluma on Friday to attend the Academy and am really looking forward to it. I've got all my uniforms together, should be within weight standards and will pick up my orders today. Anyone that has been through have any advice for me before I leave. I'm debating on whether to take my own bike or use the Academy's, what you think?

Anyone else in this class?

Use the academy's, they have plenty of them there. Ask questions evertime you get the chance. The people that are there for those Video Tele Conferences are the policy makers. If they don't hear about what's broke, they don't know it needs to be fixed.

If you are an avid biker, take your own. It drove me crazy not having my own bike.

They do have bikes, but the fit and condition may not be what you are used to. You will have the opportunity to ride a lot. I regret not taking mine.

Oh, and if you have a camelback take it too.

Well, since everyone seems to measure just a little bit different...

I am in the same class with Chris, it was nice to finally put a face to a name, speaking of, I also finally saw what Stu looks like from his class photo...not what I pictured (nuff said). I will use my time here wisely, and try to not let my shipmates that went before me down.

Which Deane are you referring to?

BTW- I made my max BF just fine! ;)

Chris
Having fun at the CPO Academy (the run killed me, but I'm working on it!)

Stu...I removed your picture a few years ago and replaced it with the one of John Elway holding up those back-2-back Super Bowl trophies.

I think you guys need to find a way to scan MC Slesh's Academy photo and post it up here on the UT.

Don't put too much effort into it, I'm sure JP3 is searching for another way to post a picture of himself, and he's looking for one with me in the background. (I'll be the person who is just slightly taller than him.... and yes Jim, I posted that for you) Also the Academy site posts pictures from the dinner, just wait until they post the class 138 ones........

Really, is that not the coolest thing in the world? All the Chiefs together, catching each other when they fall..that, to me, meant the most. Will you catch me when I fall? I hope we all will be there for each other when there are problems or issues we need help with. Falling off the log into my fellow Chief's arms was very hard to do. But, hopefully...we learned that is what we do as Chiefs..catch each other.

Class 142 was the best. Met some good people there. I don't know about all of you who went, but I got really tired of being "Bobisized". :)

Just kidding,

No but it was an actual form with the names and dates hand lettered, not a computer generated certificate.

Although it was many years ago, it still ranks up thegre with one the most enjoyable and career building experiences of my 30 plus years! For any who have avoided going, you are missing a unique opportunity.
